Clear Braces in Liberty, MO

Your Liberty, MO Orthodontic Services

Having a straight smile is essential in today’s society. The appearance of your smile affects your daily interactions with others and also has a profound influence on your self-confidence. If you are suffering from a crooked smile, our team offers clear orthodontic options in Liberty, MO that will straighten your smile without the distraction of metal wires or brackets.

Why Choose Invisible Orthodontics?

Our esteemed dental practice provides a wide range of orthodontic options- both clear and traditional metal braces. We’ve found that our clear orthodontic services are much more popular due to the fact that they are virtually invisible. Being able to correct a crooked smile discreetly is a more comfortable option for adult patients whose physical appearance plays a big role in their career. Similarly, teenage patients who qualify for this treatment often find it easier to adjust socially with clear braces as opposed to metal braces.

Advantages of Orthodontics

Having a straight smile is not only beneficial for your social life, it improves your oral health as well. Here are some of the advantages of choosing orthodontic care to straighten your smile.

  • Improved confidence
  • Reduced chance of periodontal disease. Teeth that do not fit properly can cause the gums to fit poorly around the socket. These loose pockets are very susceptible to food debris and bacteria that cause gum disease.Gum disease can increase your chance of falling victim to a wide variety of other ailments and diseases, including diabetes, breast cancer, and heart disease.
  • Reduced wear and tear on teeth. When teeth do not fit properly, this causes the surface of the teeth to grind against each other improperly. This can cause chips, cracks, and broken teeth.
  • Reduced chance of tooth decay. Straighter teeth are easier to clean and maintain and therefore can reduce the risk of developing cavities.

Types of Orthodontics

At Northland Family Dental, we offer a variety of teeth straightening procedures. We ensure that any patient, regardless of their orthodontic needs, can find the perfect solution at our office. The following are some of the orthodontic services that we provide.

ClearCorrect

We offer ClearCorrect to patients who are in need of a tooth alignment system but are hesitant to choose traditional, metal braces. ClearCorrect is an advanced process that involves removable, invisible aligners to fit tightly over misaligned teeth to straighten them gently and quickly. The aligners are made from soft plastic that will not irritate your gums like traditional braces. Our dentists recommend wearing your aligners for at least 22 hours a day for maximum results.

If you are a patient who is a candidate for this process, you will visit us at our office for an initial evaluation and to take x-rays and have your oral structures scanned. From there, we will send the information to ClearCorrect where they will create a series of customized aligners that are designed to guide your teeth into proper alignment over time.

Once we receive your series of aligners, we will call you into our office to go over proper usage and how to care for your teeth during the process. Treatment can take anywhere from a few months to a few years depending on the severity of your alignment needs.

Inman Aligner

We offer the effective Inman Aligner at our office. This procedure is a great option for patients who want straighter teeth quickly and are not as concerned with the appearance of the aligner.

This aligner is designed to push teeth into proper placement using two “bows” positioned on either side of the front or bottom arch. The device relies on nickel titanium coil springs that gently push the teeth from opposite direction for maximum results in less time.

Your aligner is custom made for you and should be worn 16-20 hours a day. Because the treatment is fast acting, patients will be required to come in for check-ups every 2-3 weeks to ensure that the teeth are moving correctly. Generally, patients can expect to finish treatment in 6-18 weeks.

Invisible Braces & Metal Braces

Truth be told, there is no orthodontic fix quite as effective and long-lasting as traditional braces. Although the wires and brackets are less visually appealing than other modern forms of orthodontia, traditional braces can fix and correct the majority of misalignment issues. Fortunately, we also offer invisible braces for our patients. Instead of metal, these braces use ceramic material and tooth-colored wires and brackets. Although they are not completely invisible, invisible braces are a great option for those who have more complex needs but are hesitant to choose metal braces.

Children & Braces

Many parents often ask “When should my child get braces?” While not all children automatically need orthodontic care, it is important to be sure that your child is being evaluated for misalignment issues early on. We generally start evaluating a child’s orthodontic needs by the time all of their permanent teeth come in, which is typically around age 7.

If your child needs braces or other orthodontia, be sure to follow our professional advice when it comes to starting treatment. Correcting alignment issues can prevent a host of other health issues such as tooth decay, gum disease, and jaw pain.

Receiving braces is not nearly as dreaded as it once was, our office offers clear braces and invisible aligners for teens and children who qualify and this can make teeth straightening easier and more enjoyable. While not all cases are the same, generally, children wear braces for around 2 years. Parents play a huge role in making sure their child maintains oral health while wearing braces. Make sure that your children take the extra precautions to keep their mouth healthy and clean during the braces or aligners process.

Adult Braces

More and more adults are opting to correct misaligned teeth with adult braces or aligners. Straight teeth aren’t only for teenagers, having a straighter, more attractive smile often helps many adults succeed in their careers.

While the general orthodontic process for children and adults are the same, treatment for adults generally takes longer. On average, adults wear braces for 2.5 to 3 years. Adults who couple teeth straightening services with other cosmetic procedures, such as dental veneers to mask unattractive teeth, can achieve a full smile makeover and often notice improvement in their confidence and careers.
